Mark Chesnutt is straightforward when talking about his 24-year country music career.
“It’s a good job if you can get it,” the 50-year-old Texas musician says. Chesnutt has been at his country music career before he was old enough to legally drink. Since arriving on the country scene in 1990 with his major-label debut, Too Cold at Home, the native of Beaumont has scored several No. 1 country hits and more than 30 Top 40 country songs.
The Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center presents its final It’s Summer Friday with two free programs at the River Market center. The programs include Friday Nature Fun Day from 11 a.m. to noon for ages 9-13, where kids learn about science and nature through fun activities, technology and time spent outdoors, and #FieldNotesFriday from 1-2 p.m. for ages 9 and up, with a specific animal or plant being spotlighted. This Friday’s fun is titled Go Fish! Registration is not required.
